This Body

The familiar grotesque feeling returns
The humongous picture, the voluptuousness
My stuffed skin is stitched together holding in a cumbersome substance.

  1. ooh, something dark and honest. it's so unfortunate when women feel anything less than love for their bodies--and it's so common! we as women have beautiful bodies by default, and it should be celebrated and embraced by the entire world, but this isn't the case all of the time. i hate narrow beauty ideals, they're so unforgiving and cruel. beauty is something that is truly broad and it should feel good. and self love is so, so, SO important. i suffered through years of hating myself (i even cut myself--on more than one occasion; it's embarrassing, and i don't like to recall it), but learning to unconditionally be my own best lover has made all of the difference in my life. we all could use a huge dose of radical self love! http://galadarling.com/tag/the-playgirls-guide-to-radical-self-love/ hope that you're alright and that you are loving yourself! just checking up on you. i'm here if you'd like to share your thoughts with someone or just hear some loving and positive advice/encouragement from someone who's been there (a lot)!

  2. Hi, thanks for your elaborate comment! I agree with you totally... I had an eating disorder at a very tender age... eleven! I recently just got over it by myself, It is not completley gone, I know, but it never will be. I have to agree with what you said, I believe that as women, we should love ourselves, we're stronger than to beat our bodies down because of society and the media. I, however, don't always follow my words... I tend to dislike my body because of what the media tells me is beautiful, but just like you mentioned about the narrow body type... Those are not normal body types, we're not made to look like that, it is just sad how the media and the world make women/girls believe they should look...
