Midday

My cold fingers tap, tap, tapping against the window
The raindrops never miss a beat
My mind clouded with thoughts
It feels as cloudy as the midday sky.

Our Last Summer (short story)

Just a short story, I don't know if it makes sense but I thought of this idea... It's ironic since it's winter and not summer! But oh well... Enjoy.

I ran as fast as I could trying to reach that cool  water in the lake, it was the first day of summer and my heart was racing, I could not wait to see what adventures this summer had in store for us. “Wait up!” my best friend giggled behind me, her hair dancing wildly with the wind. I snatched off my thin blouse and took a deep breath; “On the count of three okay?” we both looked at each other, our eyes sparkling like newly polished diamonds, our breaths short and hasty. “One… Two… THREE!” We grabbed each other’s hand and launched into the cold water, the sun beaming down on our backs, it seemed like life had just begun on this special summer day. “Promise me” I whispered, wiping droplets of water from my eyes, “Promise you what?” My best friend whispered back, “Promise me that we will make this the best summer, in summer history”
“I promise” she smiled, I smiled, we had no choice but to make this the best summer in summer history, we had no choice because… This was our last summer, together.

Ubiquitous

“Ubiquitous”
You are ubiquitous
You follow me every hour, every minute, every second of my life
Your worries pollute my soul, crawl into my brain and sleep comfortably
Never have you thought about me, what I feel, how I feel about it
You are ubiquitous
You never let me go, the fatigue, the nightmares, the images they won’t go away
I wake up to nothing but you and your immortal presence.
